“Sun, Sea and Sand – The Key to Happiness”

11th May 2018,

One of the best days I’ve had since moving to Kuwait. Me and a bunch of pals hopped onto a boat and started our three and a half hour journey to Kubbar island. I’ve always wanted to visit this place, so when we finally planned to go I was more excited than a kid in a candy store…

So, we’re on the boat enjoying the sun, we have our music blaring from the speakers, dancing away like nobody’s watching, and having the odd break for a water top up, a quick snack and a little chit chat. The journey itself was really fun so anything after that was just a plus. Now of course the first thing I did once we reached the island was grab my flippers and snorkel, and swam off towards the reef. I had a good splash around but not without some war wounds… a tennis ball thrown at my face (thanks Umair!), taken out by the waves multiple times, nearly broke my ankle attempting to walk in those ridiculously long flippers, and got the worst cramp in my foot trying too hard to pose for a photo. I’m a bit of a klutz anyways so I was bound to get injured, but it was all worth it!

Here’s the best bits,

What better way to spend a Friday than fooling around in the sea, burying my feet in the warm golden sand, and soaking up the sun?!

Until next time,

Tee X
